THE HEATH is only a few miles north of central London! It is a glorious area of about 790 acres of sweeping meadows, magical glades, mysterious crannies, ancient woodlands, ponds <that the visitor can swim in or fish in>, valleys, hedgerows  and ,of course, carefully preserved Heathland!

is divided
into EAST and WEST by the
Spaniards
Road, and
into the
smaller
areas below:
EAST HEATH
and
Kenwood

 

THE HEATH boasts the discovery of over 300 species of fungi, found in the nooks and dark crannies of the woodland and grassland!

attracts visitors from near and far and, as well as being a beautiful escape from the din and clamour of the city, it provides a place for people to partake in sport and walking, to meet up, to join family orientated activities and…TO RELAX!

is the natural habitat of many species of birds, such as kingfishers, kestrels and woodpeckers. It is a bird watcher's paradise!
A host of contrasting creatures such as butterflies, moths and other insects also live here..

More than 650 species of flowering plants and ferns have been recorded. A variety of bats  also inhabit The Heath . It has a richness of history  and heritage  and a wealth of flora  and fauna ! It is forever changing.  ENTER
