West Lodge Gate

EST LODGE Gate a white brick octagonally shaped lodge, is one of the two main entrances to Kenwood, from Hampstead Lane to the north.

It was designed by George Saunders around the latter part of the eighteenth century.

From West Lodge, the drive winds through the trees and shrubs of North Wood and then enters a wide  forecourt just before the northern frontage of Kenwood House.

The drive then continues to the north-east and winds back to Hampstead Lane, via the East Lodge.

(see the City-Of_London Map to establish its exact whereabouts)
